Youth instructor
Part-time, seasonal position
This position is responsible for providing climbing instruction to children between the ages of 5 and 15. Instructors are asked to lead small groups of kids in climbing based games and activities while maintaining safety margins for both kids and surrounding climbers in the facility.
Staff responsibilities
Checking in kids to class.
Communicating with kids and parents alike.
Ability to manage multiple children at once.
Provide basic climbing instruction to groups of children while maintaining safety in a crowded environment.
Creating games and climbing oriented activities to keep a group engaged for 3 to 6 hours, or a half to full day of camp.
REQUIREMENTS
Exceptional communication skills.
Some High School education or higher.
Educational background encouraged.
Climbing background is a bonus but is not required.
Being patient and empathetic with young children is a must.
